Report: Broncos believe Sanders tore Achilles in practice

The Denver Broncos believe wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders tore his Achilles during practice Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The injury - if confirmed - would be a devastating blow to the 6-6 Broncos, who've won three straight games to get back in the AFC playoff race.

Sanders has been enjoying another strong year in Denver, with 71 receptions for 868 yards and four touchdowns. He eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in three of the last four seasons.

The 31-year-old has one year left on his contract, but his 2019 salary isn't guaranteed.

Sanders is the second Broncos star to go down over the last three days, as cornerback Chris Harris Jr. fractured his fibula in Sunday's Week 13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
