Ravens promote Roman to OC, replacing Mornhinweg

The Baltimore Ravens are shaking up their coaching staff, as senior offensive assistant and tight ends coach Greg Roman has been promoted to offensive coordinator, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed to ESPN's Jeff Zrebiec.

Roman will replace Marty Mornhinweg, who coordinated the team's offense for the last three seasons. Mornhinweg has been asked to remain on the staff in a different role, according to Zrebiec.

The Ravens' offense ranked ninth in the NFL during the regular season. Rookie Lamar Jackson sparked the unit after he took over as starting quarterback.

Roman's previous experience as an offensive coordinator came with the Buffalo Bills from 2015 to 2016, and the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014. He worked with another dual-threat quarterback in San Francisco, coaching Colin Kaepernick for the three most productive campaigns of his career.
